The project was a straightforward cooling system, but before the HP discharge line went into the condenser, it ran through a heat exchanger that was in a tub of water to heat up the water as the system was running. The evaporator was another coil that had to be fabricated on site, lying in another tub of water to freeze the water to simulate an ice rink. Basically, a heat pump system. After all the safety briefings had been done, it was time for us to familiarise ourselves with our tools. All the tools that were used were sponsored and everybody got exactly the same tools to prevent one having an advantage over another. We had an amazing selection of tools, from three different Fluke multimeters to a DeWalt cordless drilling machine.
