FRIGAIR Showcase : The new countdown begins !

FRIGAIR 2022 is now officially one year away , and the kickstart to the new countdown to the continent ’ s largest dedicated HEVACR event is getting the industry involved in the excitement .
As the pandemic that persists around the globe has almost entirely halted many an industry ’ s face-to-face engagements since the beginning of 2020 , this event will bring collaborations and high spirits to the sector by again creating the platform for the entire industry to network , discover new suppliers and services , evaluate the latest technology and methodology , and continue learning through various seminars . |
The organisers and SA IRAC , as the owners of this world-class event , together back the face-to-face approach fully as it has been proven successful over many decades before . Although digital media has temporarily taken front row in most companies , it has also to an extent created a virtual overload on people and the industry and has therefore resulted in a greater hunger for in-person interactions . |
It is no secret that one-on-one engagement creates larger sentiments of trust while being able to address queries immediately with visitors being able to see and touch products is advantageous in the pitch or selling process . Further , recent studies have shown that even simple simultaneous eye contact and a first bump ( in observing limited contact ), affects endorphin levels in humans – creating a sense of happiness and excitement – and let ’ s be honest , who |
couldn ’ t use more of that these days ! So , as we celebrate the re-launch of this event , the industry was invited to share what new and innovative products and services are out there , and these form part of this FRIGAIR Showcase . THE SOUTH AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF REFRIGERATION AND AIRCONDITIONING ( SAIRAC )
One of the South African Institute of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning ’ s ( SAIRAC ) premier events , the FRIGAIR expo is the largest dedicated HERVAC trade exhibition in Africa and dates back to 1980 . FRIGAIR takes pace every three years and has built a reputation unmatched by any other trade show of its kind .
The unprecedented circumstances responsible for the postponement of FRIGAIR has without doubt left a mark . AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION ACADEMY ( ACRA ) The FRIGAIR expo represents an excellent platform for the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Academy ( ACRA ) to showcase the latest training on offer . For the upcoming expo , ACRA ’ s focus will be on the latest training courses and updates in line with the rapid changes in technology and legislation experienced by industry .
With South Africa signing the Kigali amendment , there is a shift towards natural refrigerants . In addition , as energy usage has come under the spotlight , we see increased development of energy-efficient systems . ACRA ’ s latest training updates are inclusive of these changes including natural refrigerants and the latest methodologies for dealing with flammable refrigerants .
In addition , we offer the latest updated safe handling of
refrigerants course . ACRA has the capacity to train on all aspects of the air conditioning and refrigeration fields up to and including Trade Testing . The emphasis is in the training of apprentices / learnerships , artisans and technicians , as well as aspects for management requiring technical knowledge .
The training is competency-based , meaning , any student attending a course is given an in-depth theoretical knowledge as well as the practical skills in order to achieve competency in the workplace . The aim of all training that upon successful
completion of any particular course the student will be capable to do the job as required .
ACRA serves clientele both nationally and internationally including governmental training initiatives . ACRA carries full accreditation from the Department of Higher Education , QCTO and NAMB .
