This can all be done by one person. All three partitions can be pushed to the left or to the right, or to either side to leave an open space in the centre. Maintenance is minimal and the technology is very easily used by drivers or loading personnel. The same vehicle can be used for a single temperature by sliding all the panels to one side. Watters says, “We searched all over Europe and we are confident that the system we have chosen offers the best solution for our many clients who operate multi-temperature vehicles, such as Vector Logistics, Spar, LiebenLogistics, and Shoprite. “For loading and offloading in multiple locations, we now offer strip curtains on sliding rails that can easily be pushed to one side during loading or offloading. One of the drawbacks of strip curtains is that personnel are resistant to the inconvenience of needing to push their way through the cold, wet strips. They often complain of the discomfort of drops of water that run down their necks. With the rail system, the curtains are easily pushed to one side and slide back with a swift movement of one hand.” ELECTRIC AIR CURTAINS For operators who want a completely unobstructed door opening while offloading, Elite Fibre offers the BlueSeal electric air curtain imported from Germany. The BlueSeal switches on automatically when the doors are opened and, even when left open for 10 minutes, the increase in cargo space temperature is minimal and limited to the proximity of the door. To minimise possible damage during loading, the specifications of the BlueSeal are a height of only 127mm and is available in different widths, from 800mm to 2 430mm. The air curtain is powered by 24V or 12V with a low current draw of 2.5 amps per meter of width.
