The Phoenix Racks team is now the SCM Ref Africa team.

s of 1 November 2017, Phoenix
Racks has changed its
corporate identity to SCM Ref
Africa. However, the team and the
range that everyone has come to know
and trust, will remain unchanged.
SCM is short for Scambiatori di Calore
e Macchine frigo exchangers and
refrigerating systems. The reason for the
change is to align the company with its
holding company Beijer Ref’s global
strategy of focusing on its original
equipment manufacturing (OEM)
division. The new SCM Ref Africa now
joins the manufacturing facilities SCM
Frigo, SCM Ref Sweden, and SCM Ref
France as part of this new division.
“The benefits of this increased focus
and closer collaboration will be to offer
even more competitive solutions for
both our standard products as well as
our customised designed plant,” says
Graham Conway, general manager of
now-SCM Ref Africa.
“Special focus will be placed on
technical solutions that are at the
forefront of sustainable environmental
developments, enabling us to offer the
latest trans-critical CO 2 solutions,”
Conway explains.
There will be no changes to the
management structure of the business,
Conway confirms. “We remain at our
customers’ disposal to support them with
friendly, skilful, reliable service and
expertise, and to remain their trusted
supplier of quality, energy-efficient
refrigeration systems.”
