Double celebration at GEA Africa
By John Ackermann
Last year, on 30 October, saw a double celebration at the GEA Africa facilities in Cape Town. Bassy Ramjukadh retired after 26 years’ service and four employees left to start their own business.
Ramjukadh, who will be well known to many suppliers, has been the chief buyer at GEA for many years. He joined Grenco in 1990 after leaving the APV Company in Cape Town. Among his colleagues, Ramjukadh will be sorely missed for his helpful attitude and ability to source materials and services for the company at the best prices. To the many suppliers throughout South Africa, the friendly approach and politeness of Ramjukadh will certainly be remembered.
Along with the staff, many of GEA’ s suppliers also attended the farewell to wish Ramjukadh a happy and enjoyable retirement.
This day also marked the farewell of four employees
— Abdul Marcus, Kevin Wessels, and Leon and Brandon Bloys— who have done the pipe insulation for GEA for many years and have taken the plunge to form their own company to offer their services to a wider clientele. CLA
