OUTSIDE STANDS
A-Gas South Africa had their Rapid Recovery service vehicle with its units and cylinders . Nicholas Schonegevel ( pictured left ) and Jay Schonken , Rapid Recovery technician at A-Gas , shared how they go out to a client ’ s site in conjunction with the HVAC contractor and reclaim the refrigerant at an unmatched speed , saving the client time and money and protecting the environment . “ We recover refrigerant up to 10 times faster than conventional recovery machines , therefore reducing downtime and saving on labour costs . A certificate for the recovered refrigerant is then issued to the client as proof for safe disposal ,” he said .
Aggreko exhibited their 100kW chiller and 16kVA generator . Kagiso Makgatho ( pictured ), sector manager : temperature control – sub-Saharan Africa , said the equipment is available only for rental , and potential clients are welcome to transport them with their own trailers . Visitors who spent time with Makgatho learnt the kinds of contingency planning they offer : “ For instance , if your chiller goes down or if you need additional renting power ,” Makgatho explained . The units on display were the smaller versions of what they offer . ebmPapst showcased their new 910mm axiblade fan together with Generation 3 EC electronics outside . Visitors ( pictured ) had a chance to experience its intensity by switching it on and playing with the different settings . The inside stand also featured various energysaving products .
Evapco put one of its MTT-range open-circuit cooling towers outside to entice visitors to visit its stand inside and find out more . This massive unit could be seen as you walked to the entrance of the show , literally towering above the rest . “ It is a product to be proud of in the Evapco group and its quality was also our main reason to showcase the unit ,” said Ivan Loader of Evapco .

GEA Africa had on display one of their SLXI ranges as well as the Thermoking diesel electric unit . They also exhibited transport refrigeration and tail lifts . Chantel Kent-Brown ( pictured ), sales representative , was available to provide solutions to visitors .
OTTC was at the show to inform passers-by about the training they provide for industry technicians . “ We are a training school and are purely promoting the training of refrigeration and the idea of safe training of technicians ,” said refrigeration master , Martin McEneaney-Nel . According to him , without the trained technicians none of the big machines in the refrigeration industry would work .
