# FRIGAIR2018 official exhibitor review

By Candace Sofianos King and Ntsako Khosa With stands outside and in both Hall 5 and Hall 6 , FRIGAIR 2018 boasted an impressive 150 exhibitors from across the world , showing off the latest and greatest HEVAC & R technologies industry has to offer — see for yourself !

This year the show was bigger than ever , boasting stands that would easily be at home at any international exhibition . Some of the custom stands took many days of long hours to complete and the results were truly amazing .

But irrespective of the shape and size of the stand , each and every exhibitor had something to share with visitors , ensuring the industry is up to date with the many exciting technological advances the market has to offer . We take a look at what was on offer at each stand .

HALL 5

A-Gas South Africa ’ s indoor stand also promoted its new Rapid Recovery service ( unit on display outside ) and proudly launched its Braze-A-Gas at the show . The Rapid Recovery solution assists the market with refrigerant recovery at phenomenal speeds , coupled with a buyback programme for the recovered refrigerant . A-Gas also promoted alternative refrigerants at the show , including low global warming potential ( GWP ) HFCs and HFOs . Here is , from left : Michael Labacher ; Bianca Boshoff ; and Grant Mc Gill .
AMG Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning specialises in industrial and commercial refrigeration , and at their stand they showed visitors a wide range of refrigeration services in the field . ACRA showcased the various skills development , training , and education options available within the HEVAC & R industry . They offer training / skills development guidance — including trade testing , apprenticeships , learnerships , short courses , skills programmes , part qualifications , authorised refrigeration practitioner licenses , and more . Air Filter Maintenance Services ( AFMS ) had various HEPA , primary , and secondary filters on display at their stand , as well as bag-in-bag-out units and a biological safety cabinet . They were proud to highlight their work in Africa . AMS Haden brought a range of their HVAC instrumentation to the show , for measuring everything from pressure and velocity , to wet and dry bulk instruments , duct leakage detection and diffuser testing . They also promoted the latest Vent PRO2 , their own make of digital vein thermometer , with built-in calculations . Pictured at the stand is technical manager , Marcus Meintjies .
Acrow deals with mobile racking for industrial and consumer-based businesses . They exhibited their storage solution ranges , specifically for cold storage . Their motto ‘ Made in Africa for Africa ’ is true to its core . Their new product offering boasts energy-efficient savings as a plus . Air Movement Supplies ( AMS ) is a regular to the show and exhibited a range of HVAC instrumentation and occupational hygiene instrumentation from major original equipment manufacturers ( OEMs ) such as Casella , Thermo , and TSI . Automated Control Solutions ( ACS ) exhibited some leading international brands / products for sensing and control devices , used in building automation applications . They launched a few interesting products from manufacturers like Danfoss and Honeywell . Afrox showcased its extensive range of refrigerant products ( in refillable and disposable cylinders ) and was at the show to educate the market on the full benefits of the Zugibeast . The Zugibeast extracts contaminated oil , moisture , and other non-condensables from refrigerants . The team also mentioned Afrox ’ s reclaim and recovery of gas offers . Air-Box directors Kevin Fedderke ( right ) and Rean van Wyk showed off a wide range of air filters and products for the textile , health , food and beverage , and pharmaceutical sector . Their air handling unit and fan filter units are custom designed for each sector .
