Fire and Security Techniques shared information about why a gas suppression system should be used in the cold storage environment.“ It’ s a much better solution compared to using water. FireGear displayed their new fire curtain that can withhold a 1 000 ° C fire for four hours.“ The curtain is made of woven glass fibre,” explained the director of Firegear, Ron Burns( right). Together with Steve Mason( international sales manager) from BLE Smoke and Fire Curtains, they were at the show to share the technicalities and properties of the curtains and fire walls. They are offering real solutions to circumstances that can arise during a fire in a building.
Full Gauge Controls came all the way from Brazil for their third show. They offer various applications and have been operating in the South African sector for more than 10 years. Lidiane Burin of Full Gauge( pictured) said that South Africa and Brazil are very similar markets, which is good for business.
GEA Africa’ s stand was all about refrigeration, particularly focusing on their range of products for the cold storage market. Their stand had the latest Bock compressors and HB products. Stephen Long, head of compression sales, and a whole bunch of GEA representatives were available to advise.
Honeywell South Africa’ s stand highlighted the Performax LT( R407F) refrigerant— a retrofit alternative to R404A, R22, and N40— a refrigerant alternative that ticks all the boxes, offers better energy efficiency, zero ozone depleting potential( ODP), and a GWP < 1. Humidair had an audiovisual presentation of their product range at their stand. Various dehumidifiers were also on display for visitors to see.“ Anyone that comes, we are happy to show them the units and explain anything about who we are,” said Robert Aldred, sales manager( left), with Peter Aldred, MD.
GHM Messtechnik SA displayed all their wireless instruments and mini data loggers for the refrigeration industry.“ It’ s an industry launch for Delta OHM in the South African market,” said managing director Jaco Grobler. From left is Erich du Toit( sales engineer) and Grobler. They offered sensible solutions to visitors at their stand for variables required in an environment.
Hydro Precision Tubing exhibited at FRIGAIR for the first time and showed off its customised products that are tailormade for clients. They highlighted their aluminium tubes for heat transfer applications. Here is Mark Winker( left) with Oliver Vierhaus.
Frigrite exhibited refrigeration cabinets for the supermarket industry. Exhibiting for the first time, they looked forward to creating new connections and establishing themselves in the market. Grid Switch was at the show for their first time and launched their new OptiFlo fridge / freezer spacers and plastic pallets at the show. Mike Cohen, Grid Switch sales manager( left), said that the OptiFlo fridge / freezer spacers are highly innovative and a first for South Africa. Cohen was joined by personal assistant Lesley Carneiro. iLED exhibited their latest offering of industry-leading control systems, peripherals, and value adds from Distech Controls, Sontay, and eZi Tech to provide HVAC & R systems integrators with feature-leading and innovative complete control solutions. Fuchs Lubricants South Africa is an independent lubricants manufacturer in southern Africa, and in addition to their wide range of refrigeration lubricants, they offer a comprehensive range of OEM-approved oils and greases for all industrial applications. They exhibited the Fuchs Reniso Refrigeration products this year. They boast a listing of over 10 000 products, noted Gerald Langley( left), here with Ryan Tate.
In terms of age, 26 % of FRIGAIR 2018 visitors were aged 18 – 34; 44 % were between 35 and 50; and 30 % were 51 and older.
