✔ 1b Industrial extra wood fibre recovery: There is extensive recovery of forest
by thinning planta7on as well as harves6ng en6re tree(including branches), and
some7mes stump & root: Finland harvests more than 1 million m3/yr in recent
years, some synergy with peat harves7ng, increase minimum 10% of wood vol,
much less extent but s7ll done in Sweden, Bal7cs, UK. Also general above ground
wood debris recovery from forest is lot higher in North West Europe than most
other regions. Infra set up with first certain dura7on of "investment period" is
needed.
• ✔ 1c Wood Gasifica6on & Power genera6on: Net energy gain compared to
simple combus7on, cost itself had been higher than conven7onal combus7on in
the past due to technical & up7me issue but situa7on is rapidly changing in last
2-3yrs. Some are CHP(Combined Heat & Power)/Cogenera7on.
• ◆1 LARGE SIZE power plant applica7on(~10-150MWh~) by overcoming tar,
corrosion, plugging issue etc, predominantly North West Euro companies, due to
the size primarily Fix Bed UpdraZ, or Entrainment, Circular or Bubbling Fluidized
