Rrange of used equipment , from B3s and low-tech Cat C ’ s for the AGC and bingo markets , hi-tech Cat C for the pub sector or Cat D for the FEC market .
“ We handle non-gaming equipment as well , but we would best known for our supply of gaming machines ,” said RLMS sales director , Tony Glanville .“ To keep ahead in the market we aggressively market our offering through regular mail shots and Coinslot advertising , which keeps our name at the forefront of the purchasers ’ minds . You would be hard pressed to find someone that has not heard of RLMS Sales in the gaming sector we are like the Coca-Cola of the amusement trade .”
Glanville added :“ We have developed over decades of trading a broad database of clients and are continually advertising and marketing to attract new customers that cover the spectrum of equipment purchasers whether they buy new , used or a combination of both .
“ Our percentage of used sales fluctuates throughout the trading year ranging anywhere between 30 per cent and 60 per cent depending on the time of year and what product is available at the time .”
As used equipment is a vital part of RLMS ’ business make up , it has been critically important for the company to ensure the infrastructure is in place to support this .“ We have a dedicated team of engineers which combines youth and experience . Three of the team have more than 50 years of experience between them and Jonno is our latest recruit who joined us last year .
“ The workshop team are overseen by Jo Harper who is responsible for all scheduling . Jo also liaises with all component suppliers and ensures the products are produced to the customer ’ s specification , while Debs looks after our transport function responsibility . We are very fortunate to have such a great team here at RLMS . They work tremendously hard and take great pride in the work that they do .”
Glanville added : “ We have a full inhouse workshop facility where all repair and refurbishment work is carried out . In addition to be able to facilitate our own in-house cabinet repairs we invested in our own spray booth . All metal framed cabinets are rubbed down and re-sprayed this gives us the ability to provide an excellent finish to the products so the customer can place the product straight into a pub or club in the case of single site operators and on the floor in the case of arcades and bingo clubs .
“ Fundamentally we are traders . We are continually buying and selling product and , as such , part exchanging is a key component of the process . As long as there is an exit route for the product and it is commercially viable we will part exchange against new or used equipment purchases . The part exchanges we buy in range from product that is relatively new through to product that the value is in the component parts of the machine rather than the game itself .
Part exchanging gives operators the opportunity to free up floor space and turn off site or redundant stock back into cash , and RLMS are key facilitators in that process .
