• Weddings • Naming Ceremonies
The role of a Civil Marriage Celebrant
is not taken lightly as it encompasses
many necessary qualities.
A Marriage Celebrant must adhere to a
high standard of professional conduct,
have an understanding of the Marriage
Act as administered by the Attorney
General of the Commonwealth of
Australia, and set a good example in the
Code of Practice. Being a celebrant is
enlightening and rewarding as we are
happy to help plan a wedding, offering
advice, support and practical help to
bring out the best, while lessening the
pressure on the couple to be married.
All weddings are wonderful and the vast
majority have a perfect day, but this
brings back a memory or two of past
performances.
Well, one wedding I can recall was next to
a Cricket club and was to commence at
2.00 pm. All 50, or so guests arrived quite
early and and clambered into the club
bar and began drinking. After 3 requests
I eventually encouraged all and sundry
to commence the marriage. It went well
until we moved to sign the paperwork,
most returned to the bar to refresh their
pallets and again it was difficult to bring
the group back to formally introduce
the married couple as Mr and Mrs xxxxx
I am told the reception lasted well into
the night.
I am a local in Pottsville, and happy to
offer my services and support to anyone
considering marriage. I will do my best to
make it easy for you.
