Put a Pass code or Pattern Lock on your Smartphone
& Tablet
With our increasing use of mobile devices, more than
ever we are freely allowing our personal information
to be entered into our iPhone’s, iPad’s, and Android
devices. To secure this information from others, it’s
highly recommended you protect your mobile device
from eyes other than your own.
Most of us put a password on our computer, but many
still do not put a passcode or pattern lock on their
smartphone or tablet. By nature these devices are highly
portable, and more prone to accidents and theft, than
other types of computer devices.
Should you be unfortunate enough to have your device
stolen, or left in the coffee shop; you can prevent
unauthorised access by password protecting it.
The following is a guide on how you can password
protect your device.
On an iPhone/iPad, go to Settings > General Tab > and
select “Passcode Lock”. Select “Turn Passcode On” and
create your passcode and confirm. This will allow you
to create a simple four-digit PIN.
On Android Devices, go to Settings > Security > Screen
