Microsoft changes SkyDrive to OneDrive
Microsoft have rebranded their online
storage cloud from SkyDrive to OneDrive
with several new features. For existing
SkyDrive users, your files are ready in the
new OneDrive experience; just login at
www.OneDrive.com.
If you’re reading about the service for
the first time, OneDrive gives you one
place for all of your files, including photos,
videos, and documents, and it’s available
across the devices you use every day.
You may remember back in January’s
article when I spoke about automatic
Smartphone & Tablet camera backup to
your Dropbox. Microsoft’s OneDrive now
has the same great feature for Android
devices. OneDrive have also added new
ways for you to earn more storage—on
top of the 7 GB already given for free.
Customers who refer friends can receive
up to 5 GB for each friend who accepts
an invitation to OneDrive, and they’ll
even give you 3 GB just for using the
camera backup feature. You’ll never
have to worry about manually saving your
photos and videos with great services like
OneDrive and I encourage you to set
your up now.
Firstly, you will need to create a free
Microsoft Account. Download OneDrive
from the Play Store.
Open the OneDrive app on your Android
device. > Tap on the settings icon (three
small vertical squares in the bottom righthand corner). > Tap ‘Settings’ > Under
‘Options’ tap ‘Camera backup’ > Turn
‘Camera Backup’ feature on. Under
Options, you can set to include video
upload and use mobile network.
You’re done. No more plugging in your
device to back up your photos and
videos. Automation is now set to make
this part of your life much easier.
