and fresh seafood on Saturday 2nd
August for the first Octopus Garden
Festival.

Showcasing the best fresh seafood from
the region, along with home grown
musical acts, the one-day festival aims
to become an annual event.
Festivities took place from Manettis’s
seafood restaurant, located on the
north end of the marina, all the way
down past the trawlers and Ivory Tavern,
and ended at Drifts Tackle shop on
Kennedy Dr.
The public were able to walk the
length of the strip and take in live music
and other attractions on the way,
showcasing Tweed River at its best.
Berger Houseboats joined in the
local trade festivities, offering a great
competition to win a four night holiday
on board one of their houseboats, Pluto,
to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of
the Tweed River.
