Bruce the Pixie and Dumachela INAUGURAL OCTOPUS GARDEN FESTIVAL Tweed Marina was awash with music and fresh seafood on Saturday 2nd August for the first Octopus Garden Festival. Mayor Barry Longland Akram and Tasso Showcasing the best fresh seafood from the region, along with home grown musical acts, the one-day festival aims to become an annual event. Festivities took place from Manettis’s seafood restaurant, located on the north end of the marina, all the way down past the trawlers and Ivory Tavern, and ended at Drifts Tackle shop on Kennedy Dr. The public were able to walk the length of the strip and take in live music and other attractions on the way, showcasing Tweed River at its best. Berger Houseboats joined in the local trade festivities, offering a great competition to win a four night holiday on board one of their houseboats, Pluto, to enjoy the beautiful surrounds of the Tweed River.
