COFFEE

It was an early Saturday morning. I was having breakfast on my hotel’s balcony. I could hear music playing from somewhere. It was a Teddy Pendergrass song. I wondered where the familiar sounds were coming from but before I could inquire, right next door from balcony to balcony, there he was standing in the sunlight with his arms stretched out, bare chest and jogging pants singing his heart out. Of course, I didn’t say anything because I was enjoying my view. So I sat quietly and embraced the moment.

“I’ve been so many places, I seen so many faces. But none quit as lovely as you. More beautiful than the Mona Lisa, worth more than gold and my eyes had the pleasure to behold…"

His melody was tranquil.

Obviously, he didn’t know he had an audience.
