It's Only a Bad Day, Not a Bad Life

Story and Photos by: Adrian Lopez

I had to take a test on a Monday morning.

I finally finished with the test and I went to class. Only having 10 minutes left in class, the substitute, Mr.Johnson marked me absent because he couldn't change the online attendance program. Now, I would have to make up a class for that day. The bell finally rang to go to lunch and play soccer, and I was hoping my luck would begin to change.

On the field, I felt the blazing heat of the sun and knew it was going to make it hard to play. I was sweating before we started to play, but I was out there for one reason and one reason, to kick some ass! 10 minutes into the game, I was tired as heck and I just felt like crap. Every ball I got from Juan or Al, I would loose it. Every perfect shot I had to make a goal, I missed. I was getting really frustrated and was ready to quit, but I didn’t. Yet as I continued to play, I continued to fail.
