Between 1898 and 1939 Coal Creek was a thriving town located right beside the hustle and bustle, and the noise and dust, of above ground coal mining operations. Over time nature has

On top of the Tipple the coal is weighed, then dumped down onto screens where it is sorted into slack, nut and lump coal. The lump and nut coal are loaded right onto the waiting cars. The slack coal goes in special cars to the coke ovens in Fernie.
