One of the things I love most about being part
of the ICF team is partnering with honorees
in our International Prism Award program to
share their coaching success stories. In this
issue, we’re telling the story of SAP’s Global
Coaching Practice (GCP), which delivers highimpact coaching aligned with ICF standards
to employees worldwide. (Read SAP’s story on
page 12, and learn more about the Prism Award
program at Coachfederation.org/prism.)

What I find most inspiring about SAP’s coaching success story are the GCP’s grassroots origins:
This high-impact global offering began with a small group of managers who sought coachspecific training to sharpen their own skills. After experiencing coaching and coach-training
firsthand, they realized the modality’s potential benefits for the wider organization and took the
first steps to weave coaching into SAP’s culture. They got started, and in so doing, they changed
SAP for the better.
This issue of Coaching World is filled with resources to help you get started and take the first
step toward achieving your next business development goal—regardless of whether you’re a
new or longtime coach. Turn to page 22 to discover why it may be worthwhile to step into the
organizational coaching space. A Q&A with bestselling author Gretchen Rubin (page 14) outlines
steps you can take to kick-start habit change. Beginning on page 18, Suzanne Bates provides
easy-to-implement tips for stepping out with enhanced executive presence.
As you contemplate your goals for 2016, I invite you to share how we at Coaching World can help
you achieve them. Email me at [email protected] and let me know what you’d like
to see more of in CW this year.
