11 MAGIC! Watch as the stars of Super League gathered at St James' Park to launch Magic Weekend 2015 in Newcastle. Read more here. What a fantastic build up to Magic Weekend! Firstly we had the Sky Try schools and U12/13/14 open access day all together on St James' Park on the Tuesday. Both the Sky Try and Embed the Pathway open access events were led by up and coming north east coaches who are taking their UKCC Level 3 qualifications. Joe Brown and Ryes Clark led the Sky Try initiative with Mike Heap leading the EtP open access event with help from Chris Parker, Adam Houston, Scott Woods and Graeme Neighbour, who all coach on the NE Regional Academy programme. They were joined by Rob Jones, 'the Pied Piper of north east rugby' who enthused kids of all ages to play the game. The north east has enormous potential to expand rugby league and with its dedicated coaches in the academy, as well as an enthusiastic group of community coaches who have really taken to the Embed the Pathway programme, I am confident things are on the up! The whole week was an inspiration to the game in the north east. Well done to all that took part. Magic Opportunity ONE DAY ONLY!
