Alongside learning about these issues , members can also plan initiatives and activities for the wider school community to bring awareness of and create engagement with these social justice issues . Lastly , the club will be a space where students of all grade levels can practise , refine , and empower themselves with leadership skills by planning club meetings and activities for the rest of the club members .

The First Responders ( FR ) Club designed to create an environment where students can assist and experience the field of first aid . The FR student will gain knowledge of anatomy and physiology , relate injuries to the demands of sport , assist with immediate care of injuries once proper skills are obtained , observe and understand rehabilitation techniques while assisting athletes with basic rehabilitation exercises , assist with the application of modalities and understand the effectiveness of each , and assist with general athletic training procedures during games and practices . Additionally , the benefit of the program is to prepare our FR student aides for future education and professional responsibility .
All FR members are expected to have completed certification in first aid and CPR . Additionally , FR members who wish to receive a Certified Athletic Therapists ( CAT ) must complete their certification in sport first aid , CPRC and athletic taping .
GSA ( Gender and Sexuality Awareness )

The purpose of GSA club ( Gender and Sexuality Awareness ) is to provide a much-needed safe space in which students can work together to help make their school welcoming of sexual and gender minority students . Through participation in this club students work to inform and educate others of relevant topics like gender , sexual orientation , and romantic orientation and issues related to these topics such as gender neutral bathrooms , pronouns and bullying of LGBTQIA + youth . The goal of the GSA is to create an atmosphere where people are accepted .

Improv offers an open , inviting forum for anyone of any experience level to practise the art of improvisation , build improv skills , and have fun . Each session includes an assortment of activities and games . There are opportunities to showcase the club through events such as the Canadian Improv Games in February . This is a team the meets one a week and is student led with the help of an outside coach , as needed .
First responders may volunteer to be athletic therapist for sports team that travel ; this would result in extra costs to the student .
