Guiding Philosophy
The primary objective of CHS Athletics is to allow the
opportunity for students to express themselves in
their chosen athletic activity and to improve their
quality of life.
Goals
To provide opportunities for students to strive for
excellence in the particular sport(s) chosen, by
supporting them to:
• Achieve greater sense of personal growth in
meaningful and challenging situations
• Set goals as an individual member of a group and
determine the prerequisites to achieve these
goals
• Develop lifelong recreational/competitive
interests
• Participate in group activities which allow for
the development of social skills and fair play
• Improve physical fitness and skill development
• Encourage interest in all school activities and
develop school spirit
Athletics is an essential part of a balanced education
program. Student athletes are held to a high academic
standard and we expect all who represent CHS to
conduct themselves in a manner that is a credit to
themselves, the coaches, the department of athletics,
and Crofton House School.
