Platanos, Collard Greens, and Callaloo, Tuesday, September 6th, 6:00-8:00pm, Campus Center Theater
Platanos, Collard Greens and Callaloo- Platanos, Collard Greens and Callaloo is a play based off of David Lamb’s book Do
Platanos Go Wit’ Collard Greens? It tells the story of two college students, Freeman, an African-American man, and
Angelita, a Latino woman, both forced to confront and overcome cultural and racial prejudices, while defending their
bond from the biases held by family and friends. A hilarious tale of love, family drama and politics, Platanos, Collard
Greens Y Callaloo is a fresh spin on the long-running Platanos Y Collard Greens.
