Tourism Australia MD reappointed on new five-year deal Phillipa Harrison has been reappointed managing director of Tourism Australia on a contract up to 2029 . Tourism and trade minister Senator Don Farrell welcomed the “ unanimous ” decision by the national tourism authority ’ s Board .
Harrison has held the post since 2019 , providing leadership through some challenging times , including the devastating bushfires and the global pandemic . Harrison previously held senior positions at luxury travel brands .
Tourism Australia is currently running its ‘ Come and Say G ’ day campaign ’, which has had almost 2.5bn views worldwide .

Geoff Donaghy steps down at ICC Sydney After an extraordinary 30-year career at ASM Global , Geoff Donaghy , has stepped down from his full-time role as CEO of ICC Sydney and group director – convention centres , ASM Global ( APAC ).
The team at ICC Sydney honoured their CEO ’ s legacy by creating the ‘ Geoff Donaghy Leadership Award ’ category in the internal Extraordinaires Awards programme .
Donaghy started his career as a teacher , before moving to the tourism sector through airline and then hotel industry roles , and was appointed general manager of the Tourism Tropical North Queensland ( tourism and con-vention ) bureau in 1989 .
