Wanda Hocker, Resident of the Month Wanda was born August 6, 1934, to Jack and Myrtle Hocker. Wanda had four step siblings, only one is still living, Sue McDonald. Wanda married Charlie Watts, and they had three children, Sherrie Murphy who passed away at 15 months, her son Bryan Watts and daughter Ann Ladd. Her daughter said she is the best mom. She never pushed her and she would give advice with- out being judgmental. “My children were my life,” said Wanda. Wanda went to Bolivar High in 1952. She worked in insurance and most of her years in trucking, at least 40 years (long haul truck - Freight liner truck) she even owned her own business. Her hobbies included sewing for family and other people, including wed- ding dresses. She also crocheted. Her daughter stated that she had a way of picking up a card that would reduce you to tears. She would look for hours to find the special card that would convey appreciation. Wanda stated “Everyone out here (CMHCF) are so nice.” Congratula- tions Wanda on being the resident of the month for May.
