Beverly Kirby, Resident of the Beverly was born Aug. 21, 1964, to Sam and Chandra Kirby in Anchorage, Alaska. Beverly is the middle child and only girl in her family. She has an older brother, Mark, and younger brother Joe. Beverly lights up when she tells stories about how she and her brothers enjoyed playing in the snow while growing up. As a child, her favorite activity was riding her bike. At 13 years old, Beverly underwent a spinal fusion, which left her upper body in an full cast, but that didn’t slow her down. She continued to ride her bike and participate in a March of Dimes walk-a-thon. While growing up, her favorite family trip was to Six Flags. They would also travel to Camdenton, Mo. to visit her grandma. While there, they would Beverly Kirby always try to race the go-karts. Beverly worked at McDonalds where she enjoyed meeting new people. In her free time, Beverly has enjoys painting, coloring, watching Cartoon Network and working puzzles. After completing a puzzle, Beverly will use the completed piece to decorate her room. Beverly also enjoys music, singing and dancing. Beverly has a cat named “Blackie”, who she also loves to play with any chance she can. Her favorite colors are pink and purple. Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Garfield are her heroes. “Paint whenever you get the chance to,” when asked to give today’s youth some useful advice. Beverly has been a part of the Citizens Memorial Healthcare Facility Family since April 2015. She can often be found enjoying all of the art classes, kids club, and enjoying all of the hot chocolate she can. Her favorite foods are corndogs and chocolate chip cookies. Congratulations, Beverly, on being chosen the CMHCF Resident of the Month.
