WHAT are some things that you want ? I feel like I could go on and on about things I would like . What are some things that you would say you need ? Food , water , clothes , shelter , a car ? Some people may need coffee or pop or tea . Maybe you β d say your bed or your pillow and not the one in the hotel ?
We live in a fast-paced world that is full of both wants and needs . Everyone needs everything right now . I think that society has gotten to a point where we feel that we deserve to have what we want , how we want it , and when we want it .
Think about a time when your food order was messed up ; what did you think ? Or when it took a long time to get your food order , what did you think then ? It can be very easy to start coming up with our own reasons or assumptions as to why its messed up or why it took so long β¦
But do we actually know why or how ? Probably not . I would like to encourage you to try to consider

some of the reasons why it may have been messed up or the order took too long . Rachel is really good at checking me when I get upset or complain . In the moment it β s not what I want to hear but she is often right .
Something God has been working on in me lately is this thought . Do I want God , or do I need God ? This is somewhat of a trick question .
I think we all would quickly say , β Yes , I need God !β
But β¦ Do we need a relationship with God because of what he offers us , or do we want God because we desire to have a relationship with the One who created us and sent His Son to die for us ?
Let me ask it this way : If God never did another thing for you , would you still want to have a relationship with Him ? Think about your current friends . If one of your friends quit talking to you , quit showing up , didn β t do another thing for you , would you still be friends ?
Then the second part of the

question : would you still have that friendship if you gave them as much time as you give God ?
In our busy lives , it is very easy to get caught up in life and not take time to read and talk with God . Or even time to just be quiet and listen to God .
The truth is , God did more than we can imagine by offering us salvation through His Son . He doesn β t need to do anything else . It should be my desire to offer my life back to Him and give Him the best of me , not the leftovers . I want a relationship with my Savior because of Who He is , not because of what He offers me .
