OFF ROAD SAFETY , COMFORT ,
& COMMUNICATION Gear Review is primarily focused on those

THIS of us who enjoy the ministry and riding at a Roads & Trails event . However , Laura and I also use the communication device on our road riding helmets , driver to passenger .

First is the helmet that we use . It is made by GMAX . We found these to be very comfortable for their fit , and they are lighter weight than most motorcycle helmets . They are DOT approved so you can use them for the highways , but we save them for the dusty roads , trail adventure riding , and ministry .
In addition to the weight , the GMAX helmet has a flip-down sun visor for when the blinding sun hits you right in the face . They also have ventilation ports to keep you cooler on those hot days . Another feature we added is the tinted face shields that help in cooler weather , dust and dirt trails , or as an addition to sun blindness . Finally , to keep that chin strap from flapping on your neck , they provide a “ button snap ” to secure the strap .
Now I know some folks don ’ t like to wear a helmet on the
What would you review ? woods trails , but as a former dirt bike motocross operator , I know there may come a day when we are thrown off our ATV , and that ’ s the day I am thankful for safety gear . This ¾ helmet runs from $ 70.00 to about $ 125.00 , depending on where you purchase it .
After trying two other brands and not liking them , the communication device we use is made by EJEAS . It offers clear conversation for a long range . In some places , we have found it to connect when we have lost sight of another rider . It is lightweight and easy to use . We keep ours on “ voice activation ” mode . After fully charged , the power supply lasts for all-day riding . We have a set for our road bike and another for our off-road machine . This unit offers use for up to six riders on the same channel , so it is great for a group to remain in contact from the first rider to the last . This ease of communication saves us from wondering what happened to a rider in the group who stopped to take a picture . These units are in the range of $ 100.00 , give or take a little . We think these items will make your riding safer and more comfortable all day long . CMA
