RECOMMENDED RIDES

West .

Next up , let ' s look into the west entry point . For that , we will dive into Oklahoma , where the Ouachita ' s spill over into the state and gives us an exciting ride to the Mountain . Coming from the west , you can make time on I-40 and take exit 278 on to OK-2 . I have added it to the map . On this route , you can cross the Ouachita Mountains from north to south , which is cool as they run east and west . This ride gives excellent views and a nice curvy road . Once in Talihina , stop and have a snack at the Hateful Hussy . There ' s a good chance you ' ll meet another biker there .
From here , you will head North at the stoplight and make your way up to the National Byway , better known as the Talimena Scenic Byway . This route runs you east across the mountain ridgeline with plenty of scenic overlooks to stop and enjoy . The temps up on top drop several degrees from where you stopped for lunch , so if it ' s hot , this will be a nice reprieve .

South .

Now we take a look at the south , where we will take Scenic Highway 7 . This route cuts through my old stomping grounds of Camden , Arkansas , and runs through tall pines , gently swinging you through the curves as it snakes along the Ouachita River . Next , you will follow AR-7 until Arkadelphia , where you will stay on Highway 8 , taking you to Glenwood if you need gas . If not , I would take Rock Creek Rd about 1.5 miles before the Glenwood turn . This route will take you along the edge of the National Forest , where the scenery is nice , and the curves will pick up as you take Highway 246 at Athens toward Vandervoort .

East .

Next up , this ride is coming in from the east . This is the big Arkansas delta country with plenty of water , fields , and trees . This route will be the easiest to keep up with . In Hamburg , get on Highway 8 and stay on it until Mena is in sight . This ride is the gentlest route of the group , taking you through farmland and rural communities . Kick back and enjoy the ride ; you ' re in the South now . If you would like some more National Forest riding and a few more curves that are tighter , jump on the route from the south at Glenwood , and enjoy Highway 246 .
Regardless of how you get to Colors this year , just get there . I see the hand of God moving in a very real way . For those who want to join Him in His move upon this world , the invitation is real , " Come follow Me ." Changing of the Colors is all about the invitation to come and follow Jesus as the last days revival is starting , and you will want to be a part of it . CMA
