WHEN it comes time to start heading to the
Changing of the Colors Rally , it seems like all roads can lead to Colors . While there is a lot of truth in the statement , some roads are much better motorcycling roads than others . I want to give you some of my favorite motorcycling roads . Since this is such a broad-based article , I will not be able to provide the detailed turn by turn that I usually do , but I will discuss the routes in general . Fear not , I will give a link to my Google Maps to see the routes for yourself . Some of the routes will not be fun if you are in a motorhome or trailering your bikes , but these routes have a lot to offer for those on motorcycles . We will do one for each end of the state , North , South , East , and West . If you find yourself coming in a way I have not mentioned , try some Arkansas connector roads and join up with a route . Remember , all roads lead to Colors . North . You will want to come in on
Highway 65 through Springfield , Missouri , and on south through Branson from the North . Branson would be an exciting place to look around and possibly spend a night . That would put you fresh running through northern Arkansas , home of some of the best roads in the nation . If you doubt that , then give this route a try . Make sure you and the bike are ready to ride the curves through mountain scenery . This ride will be a relief if you have been slabbing it straight through in an effort to make time . While this will be a great ride , it is not the quickest route ; you have a GPS for that . The route will mainly be made up of Highway 123 , one of my favorite roads in all of Arkansas , better known as the Arkansas Dragon . The route doesn ' t stop with this jewel , though . You will also be riding through Mt Magazine . It is worth a stop at the lodge for a snack and to look around . You ' re in Arkansas . Kick off your shoes , hang up your hurry , and enjoy the state that God made just for you to enjoy on the way to an encounter with Him .
