HOW can I possibly describe the difference it makes in someone ' s life to receive transportation to equip their ministry ? I could try to use so many words : encouraging , empowering , life-changing , but none would be adequate to fully explain how much it completely changes the life and ministry of each recipient , not to mention those they are reaching for Christ .
These recipients are local pastors and evangelists with the skill and passion to make an incredible impact for Christ in their country . They just haven ' t had the means or ability to reach new places . They have had to travel by foot , animal , or unreliable and sometimes dangerous means of public transportation . Yet , when reliable transportation is provided for missionary outreach , these indigenous champions of the faith are mightily used by God to see a harvest of salvations , church plantings , and discipleship training in ‘ under reached ’ as well as ‘ unreached ’ areas .
We estimate through the CMA / MVI Transportation Program to date , 17 million souls have been saved , with tens of thousands of churches having been planted . How incredible !
Yet numbers can only tell part of the story . I want to share about two motorcycles in particular that share some details of what it looks like for these pastors and evangelists to receive transportation .

FROM WITCH DOCTOR TO EVANGELIST As a young man in Haiti , Nelson signed a nine-year contract on his life — a contract to be a witch doctor .
He practiced voodoo regularly , casting curses on people and animals , leaving a trail of suffering and death . He was feared by everyone he met . Until some traveling evangelists came to his town . They were not afraid of him - they prayed for him , and left him a Bible . He tried to send a curse to kill them , but it didn ' t work . He was puzzled and drank heavily that night . Then he had a dream , about a man in a white robe with brown hair , who told him to read the Bible that the men had left . Three times he had this dream , and he finally opened his Bible and read Galatians 6:7 , " Do not be deceived : God cannot be mocked ."
He was three months shy of the end of his nineyear contract , but the next day he burned every voodoo item he owned and sought out the evangelists .
It was the beginning of an incredible life change for Nelson . He left voodoo behind and learned to be a mason instead . Other witch doctors tried to kill him with curses , but God protected him .
When he told his story , the response was incredible . In Haiti , many people are afraid to leave voodoo because they think they will be hurt or killed . Nelson was a testimony that God was greater .
Nelson began to receive invitations from communities farther away than he could walk safely in a day . He began to pray for a way to visit these places and share the incredible story God had given him .
Through our partnership with you , CMA , Nelson was blessed with a motorbike so he could travel as an evangelist .
