MOTORCYCLES AND CHURCH
PLANTING IN ETHIOPIA
I think of the
WHEN Great
Commission, I think of multiplication.
Jesus said, “Go and make disciples
of all nations…” (Matthew
28:19).
By its very nature, effective discipleship
produces a “multiplication
effect” for the Kingdom of
God. When vetting qualified recipients
of motorcycles throughout
the world, we review candidates’
ministry experience and effectiveness
as “disciple makers.”
The following is an illustration
of what CMA’s Run the Son
monies accomplishes in Ethiopia:
Through CMA and MVI’s assistance
with Cru and Global Church
Movements (GCM) in Ethiopia,
success in salvations and church
planting is accelerating. Cru and
GCM’s goal is to plant an accessible
church for every 1,000 people
throughout the world.
Last year alone in Ethiopia, 858
churches were planted, and 407
home groups were established.
Many of these “groups” will themselves
become healthy churches
in the months ahead. GCM’s goal
is to plant churches which will in
turn plant other churches (multiplication),
resulting in “generations”
of churches.
Recognizing this great work of
outreach, MVI, in partnership with
CMA, recently contributed ten (10)
motorcycles to Ethiopian pastors
and church planters under Cru
and GCM’s leadership. Each
motorcycle in Ethiopia will aid in
the ongoing efforts of discipleship
by equipping pastors and church
planters.
Can you imagine attempting to
individually equip and empower
85 churches and 40 groups by
yourself without an effective
means of reliable transportation –
especially in Ethiopia? One can
readily see how important a
motorcycle can be to the Great
Commission in areas like this.
Together we accomplish much,
as the Holy Spirit anoints us to
reach the lost for Christ. God is
using CMA’s Run for the Son and
the gift of motorcycles in Ethiopia
as a powerful evangelistic and
church planting tool. To God be
the glory! CMA
