SERVING AT DEVILS TOWER
DURING STURGIS BIKE WEEK Dwayne and I
WHEN first heard about this ministry opportunity at Devils Tower from our friends, Tom and Cinda Hammond, Idaho State Coordinators, we were excited! It sounded like it would be so much FUN. We got in contact with Dick Taylor, Wyoming Area Rep, and told him we were interested in coming and serving at Devils Tower.
Upon arrival, we were instantly welcomed by our CMA family, all 25 of us( 27, including us), from Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, California, and Oklahoma.
Each day started with breakfast and devotion. The Park Rangers joined us as well, which was a real blessing, allowing us to serve them and get to know some of them. Diego Gutierrez, Wyoming Area Rep and CMA School of Evangelism graduate, led our devotion each morning. The devotions for the week were focused on the Lordβ s Prayer, and Diego did a fantastic job.
Afterwards, everyone headed up to the Tower to begin serving for the day, while Cinda and I stayed behind to make lunch for our CMA crew, which was a lot of fun. Once we were done, we headed up to the Tower to join the team.
The days were filled with parking bikes and cars, helping people in the crosswalks, talking and laughing with them, praying with them, blessing their bikes, handing out ministry items, taking pictures for people, and distributing water bottles and snacks to our crew, all while helping and serving wherever needed.
We met people from all over the United States and the world! Even a family from France, familiar with CMA in their country, was excited to see it here in the United States. Their smiles were such a blessing, making my heart smile. Even though we were often busy, it was a good kind of busy, and a great blessing.
The evenings were filled with wonderful dinners prepared by Sharon and Faye, who did a fantastic job feeding us. We fellowshipped, relaxed, and visited with each other before calling it a night. On our last night, we had a potluck dinner with the park staff to wrap
