LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
MOUNT PLEASANT , TEXAS
On January 1 , 2023 , our chapter , Heaven β s Heirs , in Mount Pleasant , Texas , had our traditional New Year β s ride . Stopping in Jefferson , Texas , at a gas station , two police cars pulled up and told us to stay there because a woman called in and said that some bikers were harassing her . Then another police car arrived . Once the officers saw our back patch , they realized that we were not a problem β they knew the reputation of the people who wear our patch . We were relieved ! We asked all of the police permission to pray for them . We circled up and prayed for the officers and their service . Not realizing it , people came out of the convenience store , plus people at the gas pumps stopped to see what we were doing . We got to witness to many people through our prayers for the policemen but also by our behavior throughout the situation . What a way to start the year ?

RUN FOR THE SON
I have been sharing about Run for the Son with a brother in Christ every year , 2020 , β 21 , β 22 , and again this year . Each year he kind of blew it off . This year was different . I told him , β Even $ 5.00 , or just $ 1 is acceptable . I β ll tell you what ; take it home to Sandy ( his wife ), and let her read it .β
That was on a Friday . He came back on Monday with a check for $ 100.00 . He told me that if I want a donation for a mission I needed to go through her . She β s looser with the purse strings . Goes to show , sometimes you just have to ask the right person . I still have not met Sandy . But she read the RFS brochure and believed in the cause .
