CMA INDIA ANNUAL REPORT
2020 year 2020 started very
THE normal , and who knew this year would be remembered forever . The deadly Coronavirus was all set to turn our world upside down and change the meaning of life as we knew it . We watched on the news as the global pandemic caused havoc and devastation in China and then the rest of the world .
We in CMA India were looking forward to new beginnings and prepping ourselves with the formation of a new committee and plans for the coming year . Members were excited , and rides were planned . We wanted to increase membership , work on new chapter formation , fellowshipping , prayer and worship sessions , NGO networking , workshops , and find opportunities to be of service in our community . This all came to an abrupt stop as in March Covid-19 virus made its entry into India , and the government issued a lockdown for the next few months . We received instructions from CMA International to stop physical meetings , and all we could do was take preventive measures and pray for the affected .
The next time the chapter met
was in the month of May with limited attendance but with a wish to just meet , share , fellowship , and pray with members . We wanted to resume our prayer and worship sessions , so we tried Zoom meetings which were found to be ineffective . The lockdown got extended and more severe with people getting infected , and the death rate was soaring . Some members took precautions and volunteered to work with the local Red Cross Society , helping deliver medicines and essential commodities to the aged and people residing out of town . We are proud to inform you all that our Vice President Nereus was fearless and led a team all over the district to distribute relief packages during the lockdown on a personal level as he did not wish to endanger other chapter members .
We had inquiries for new chapter formation from Nagaland and Darjeeling . These are a work in progress and were addressed at the beginning of the year 2021 . A team recently traveled to Darjeeling and spent time sharing and mentoring the prospective members there . We have also set a date to travel to Kohima in the state of Nagaland to help and guide the formation of a new chapter there . During the second and third lockdown , the chapter stayed in touch with updates on what ’ s app , email , and Facebook messages were replied , and members kept in the loop .
We celebrated our foundation day with an overnight riverside campout and visited our local rehab center on Christmas day to pray and rejoice with them on that auspicious day . A short ride was planned to Jaigaon on the border of the kingdom of Bhutan by members who were hosted there by the Royal riders club Jaigaon .
Infections are at an all-time low in India , the chapter is once again gearing up , and plans for a new year are in place . We pray the Lord heals the world , and the situation gets better soon . Stay blessed , stay safe . CMA
