Ride is a classic . Year after year , the Beartooth Highway makes the list of the top five best rides in the USA . To sweeten the deal , if you go on the last weekend of July 2025 , you will be able to combine it with the 2025 CMA Montana Super State Rally , which will be held in nearby Columbus , Montana .
The Beartooth Highway , also called ‘ The Highway to the Sky ,’ is a 68-mile stretch of two-lane US Route 212 that connects Red Lodge , Montana , with the Northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park at Cooke City , Montana .

Along the way , you will cross the 10,947-foot Beartooth Pass and travel through alpine forests and arctic tundra . The top-of-the-world view includes 12,000-foot peaks , beautiful glacial lakes , switchbacks , great curves , sheer drop-offs , an abundance of quality guard rails , and state-of-the-art rock retention systems .
