WHILE

sitting at my desk putting this article together , I was trying to gain some ground on my list of “ too many ” things to do . Do you ever have those days where it seems like the more you do , the more you get behind ? I was thinking this might be a good day to write an article on why it is important to take a break and then do some research on the subject . After looking at my “ to-do list ” and my “ time to do it ” chart , I figured that research would have to wait for a later date ; go figure .
So , I fired up my computer , and started opening programs and accessing email to begin my long and enduring task of catching up on my “ computer stuff .” While I was sitting there entering passwords , my mind was stirred and I began to reflect upon all those “ helpful ” passwords that we must know and utilize to accomplish anything . So , here goes …..
You need a password to start your computer , you need a password to enter most programs , and if you do any kind of web-related functions , you need passwords . You need a password ( PIN #) for the bank , you need a password for your 401k , your credit card accounts , and anything else related to financial matters . These days you need a password to open your phone , get in your house or in your workplace , and in some instances , turn on your TV or other appliances .
It is almost crazy , not only do we need passwords , but they need to be different for each area , item , or program we are trying to access . We must remember that they need to be secure and that we should also change them frequently . If we don ’ t manage our passwords correctly and do all these things we are told , we could be compromising our security , credit , or finances , basically our whole life . Not only do we have passwords , but we also have security questions to ensure it is us using the password . Well , just how are you supposed to remember all those passwords that should not relate to anything in your life ? Oh well , you can get a password protected program to store all your passwords , just remember the password for that program and you ’ ll be okay ! Simple isn ’ t it ?
At times I wonder if some of us get so caught up in the “ password protected ” world that we are afraid to share anything with anyone else and that can bleed over into our Christian lives . As Christians , we are called to go and share with others , and we have the ultimate password to share . This password has opened the doorway to Heaven , this password will wash sin out of people ’ s lives , and this password will transform lives and save souls from spending an eternity in hell . The password I ’ m speaking of is Jesus !
I ’ m not trying to be cute or make Jesus seem like the simple
magic word to utter to fix everything . What I ’ m saying is that Jesus gave His life , His all , for each and everyone one of us , and we have the answer the world needs to hear . This year will you commit to sharing God ’ s password with others , or will you keep it hidden like it is some secret ? Go and share Jesus with the world ; the time is now to PASS the WORD along .
Acts 2:38 ( NASB ) “ Peter said to them , ‘ Repent , and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins ; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit .’“
John 20:31 ( NASB ) “‘ but these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ , the Son of God ; and that believing you may have life in His name .’” CMA
