in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding: In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths”( Proverbs 3:5-6, NKJV).

From an early age this scripture has guided me. I only know Gods will and direction by submitting to Him. This is true for an individual and a ministry. This is true for CMA, one man on one motorcycle following God, whose call has brought us to this place and time; who would have ever believed this would be possible? A small group of Christian bikers grew into a worldwide ministry.

This can only be God, look what God has done as we have followed him. He birthed CMA and asked us to join Him. As we celebrate 50 years this year, I am reminded of how God has impacted my life. It was 43 years ago when Becky and I joined CMA with two small boys, John Jr and Jeremy; we did not know how this would affect us. Soon after joining, we started a chapter called Charity Riders in Camden, Arkansas. This set us on a path of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the motorcycle world. God began to open doors and give us favor in out-of-the-way places. I soon realized that God was setting us as a family on a new path in a new mission field to share His love.

Becky and I began traveling and sharing the gospel across the United States. This was a great time in our lives as we learned to trust and follow God in many unfamiliar places. All of our travel and ministry time was spent as a family. We raised our kids on the back of our motorcycles. This allowed us as a family to draw closer together and create memories we still cherish today. It is amazing how God directs our paths while granting our heart’ s desire to serve Him. There are so many stories and things that I could share as an example of a family who have dedicated themselves to God with the adventures of always traveling by motorcycles. Becky was asked to meet with John Jr’ s teacher once because she was concerned about his stories. As Becky sat down with the teacher, the teacher said she was worried because in American Geography class, John Jr would always speak up and say,“ I’ ve been there with my dad on a motorcycle.” As Becky visited with the teacher, she said I married a most unusual man; our vacations and travel are always on motorcycles. She explained that these were not stories but the absolute truth. He had in fact been to places like Pikes Peak, the Grand Canyon, and the Painted Desert, from Washington State to the tip of Florida. The teacher was completely amazed.

God did and is doing many things through this as He leads us. Our lives have been greatly influenced by sowing Jesus in CMA.

God has impacted all of our lives through the ministry of CMA. We all have personal stories and victories that can be shared. As we celebrate CMA’ s 50th anniversary all glory goes to God. A book could be written and should be written titled, CMA, Look What GOD Has Done. This book is being written through the pages of time and in the hearts of those that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has touched. This June in Altoona, Pennsylvania, you have the opportunity to join in this story at the National Rally and be part of the new pages that God is writing. Because of the hand of God, we are changing the world, one heart at a time.
