YOUTH MOVEMENT

IT

can be so hard amidst the noise of our lives to hold onto and seek after the calling that God has for us. For me, holding onto the calling that God has given me is what has grounded me in my life, where I find my place of peace and rest.
โ€œ Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you restโ€( Matthew 11:28, NLT). God has provided us with a place of rest in Him! But this requires us to yield ourselves to our Heavenly Father, the one who knows us inside and out, the one who knit us together, as Psalm 139:13 says.
Doesnโ€™ t it just make sense for us to rely on the One who knit us in our motherโ€™ s womb to know what we need? And doesnโ€™ t it make sense that if He created us, He would be the one who gives us our calling, who provides rest for us in our moments of struggle?
Think about it this way: youโ€™ re studying for your next big math test, but instead of bringing home your math book, you accidentally bring home your science book. You figure there is some math in science, so youโ€™ ll just study that to get the information you need to ace your upcoming
test. You go to take your test and suddenly realize you donโ€™ t have the information you need.
You may think, okay, this analogy may be farfetched. That wouldnโ€™ t work when studying for a test, but how often do we rely on others to give us the necessary answers? How often are we running to our friends or family to comfort us? This can be helpful, especially when this person is solid in their faith, and can help you along your spiritual journey. But unless we go to the only source that has all of the answers and who knows whatโ€™ s best for us, we will never be operating under the goodness and fullness that God desires for us.
Amidst our busy lives, it can be very difficult to slow down and seek Godโ€™ s wisdom for the things we are facing, but He is waiting for us to invite Him into our situation and walk hand in hand with Him along this journey we call life.
โ€œ Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friendsโ€( Revelation 3:20, NLT). God is waiting for us to invite Him into our lives if only we will allow Him in.
Take some time today with God; He is waiting for you. Ask Him for direction in your life and allow Him to fill the voids only He can. Often, we may seek people, substances, or other things trying to fill the missing piece to our puzzle, but Iโ€™ ll tell you, He is the missing piece.
What is God telling you today? Maybe grab a notepad and start writing down what God speaks to you daily and how He works in your life.
If you take the time to do this, you will be amazed at the changes that will follow. Remember, youโ€™ re not in this fight alone, and there is nothing you can do to abandon the love that God has for you! CMA
