FEBRUARY HEARTBEAT
After reading February ' s issue of the HeartBeat and John Sr ' s article , I sent a thank you . Jerod McPherson ’ s article reinforces our like mindedness as a family should be " in Christ ." Again , grateful for the opportunity God is offering each of us to serve faithfully in His Kingdom . Numbers 6:24-26 ( Not my blessing but His .)

THANK YOU , CMA
My brother , William ( Billy ) DeBruyn , died of brain cancer on July 28 , 2020 . He frequently moved from city to city for jobs as a commercial plumber . He attended several CMA group gatherings in Arkansas , even bringing my mother with him once . He credited CMA with helping him to get clean and then returning to family . I thank your organization for that .
He returned home about thirteen years ago ; he had been on the road for a number of years after being released from prison . While he kept in touch with me , he had not spoken to our mother in all of that time . There were some legitimate reasons perhaps , but forgiveness was needed on both sides . When he did return to us , he and my mother made peace . It was time , as my mother ’ s health was declining , as was many older survivors of Hurricane Katrina .
Billy helped take care of her as she declined and they settled into a fairly close relationship for the next five years , until she died . I don ’ t believe he would have made peace with her , or did it in a timely manner , if he had not had some contact with CMA . He never explained the how or why , but attended CMA meetings and events in various locations . I am grateful to you for that .

ICE RACING
Here are a few photos of ice racing in Upper Michigan . These are of Dave Kari , Michigan Area Rep , worked the pits and passed out rag tracts . Dave and I , along with others from our chapter , worked the front gate . We also set up a booth and had bike blessings during the night races . One night we had 3,000 spectators and 475 racers .
