Testimonies prayed together in thanksgiving. Sara actually called her Mom while we were standing there talking about her. Lisa agreed with me that it was absolutely an answered prayer. What a special treat to hear of the good news of answered prayer. The only part I played in the healing was simply the willingness to be available to minister to someone. God provided me with the faith and courage needed to pray in such a bold way. We heard several more similar testimonies, as ladies were telling us of someone praying for them or a family member at our booth in the past, and of how God has answered with His healing hand. Our state is committed to getting these bags done. We have a few very talented men and women who spend time sewing the cloth bags and putting a draw string through each. Many people provide items to put into the bags. Some stuff the bags, some do their part by simply praying over the bags, and still others deliver the bags to a drop point so that they may get to the beach before bike week. Everyone is involved in some way or other, and everyone’s excited to do their part. It is so good to see such a sweet giving spirit within our state. Even though some of us live far apart, we all work together to bless these women. We also have several other members who feel the need to provide children’s bags, because there are a few children who come to the rallies and they are excited to receive a bag as well. I have a very dear CMA friend named Betty, who I must brag on at this time. Ms. Betty came to the fall MBBW and she brought her fabric, thread, needles, and sewing machine with her. She also had a few bags of little purses she had made or bought that she had stuffed with items herself. She signed up for a shift at the booth every day and actually worked two or three shifts each day. When she finished at the booth she would run by a store, pick up more children’s items, and then back to her condo to sew more bags. She brought donuts every morning, pulled up to the booth and shouted “do you want these donuts or not?” We gladly accepted the donuts which we shared with some of the rally workers, along with a cup of coffee. What a doll! Ms. Betty has been making lady’s bags for many years and I have only recently had the privilege of serving with her, and I hope to learn a lot more from her. I realize that many other states provide similar types of ministry for ladies who stop by their CMA booths, so, THANK YOU! It really does matter.
