for the Son represents a lot of work. I’ m sure some of you could give us great stories in great detail. Did you know that RFS is the work of 10,000 CMA members all across our nation? It ' s not just me, it ' s not just you, but it ' s an army of brothers and sisters from every state! And we ' re all baking pies, making potholders, washing bikes, cooking chili, knitting quilts, cleaning out our closets, selling kisses- just kidding, no one should be selling kisses- shaving our heads, and many other things, all working for Run for the Son. There have probably been times when you have worked really hard to plan a fundraiser, and it just doesn’ t turn out as you hoped. The disappointment is real in those moments!

Just for a moment, I would like to encourage you with this idea.

“ So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless”( 1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT).

Run for the Son is worth it. All the work, all the sacrifice, all the attention to detail, all of it! It’ s investing in the worldwide Kingdom of our Lord Jesus Christ, and it is totally worth it. It’ s worth it because Jesus’ Kingdom is growing, because more and more people around this globe are being pulled from darkness into the light. Run for the Son is work, yes, but it’ s profitable work, effective work. It’ s the work Jesus has called us to do, and it’ s absolutely worth it.

You might ask, why do I say the work of Run for the Son is effective

and worth it? It’ s the people. It’ s the personal, lived stories of transformation and hope that make all that we do for Run for the Son worth it. Recently, Jerod and I had the privilege of visiting the wonderful people of God in Guatemala and experiencing firsthand how Run for the Son is impacting the Kingdom of God. RFS began over 35 years ago by placing motorcycles in Guatemala. While we were there, we had the opportunity to see a close-knit network of Jesus-followers who had been working together for 37 years. The years of faithfulness and interconnectedness have yielded some pretty amazing fruit. And RFS is right in the middle of it.

We met Pastor Marcos, who received an RFS motorcycle. He experienced his church being burned to the ground. He was captured by rebels and held for a couple of months. Then, upon his release, he immediately began rebuilding and is now a ministry supervisor leading five churches!

We met with a group of 15 pastors, presbyters, and supervisors, all on RFS bikes. They are faithfully using these Kingdom investments to take the Gospel further, faster. They have a network of churches across the country that shine the light of Jesus in communities large and small. People are coming to know the life-saving love of Jesus in these places.

While we were in Guatemala, we were struck by how deep and wide the investment into the Kingdom of God has gone through Run for the Son.

For all of you who invest in Run

for the Son, I want to encourage you in the work. You are right where you need to be. You are obediently doing what Jesus is asking you to do, and it is changing lives next door to us, at biker gatherings across our nation, and through our ministry partners around the world. Why do I say the work of Run for the Son is effective and worth it? Because of transformed lives all around the world, yes, but also because of moments where YOU show up faithfully at local biker events all over your region, year after year, with bike blessing stickers and rag tracts ready to tell another biker about Christ’ s love. Whether it’ s big secular rallies where all kinds of bikers gather, or motocross tracks ministering to families, or maybe that rest stop where you set up the CMA pop-up and have cold water for bikers passing through, you take every opportunity to shine the light of Jesus to the biking world around you. Run for the Son is effective and worth it because of you! Each of you is faithfully obedient in those moments when the Holy Spirit looks to you and says TELL THEM, LOVE THEM. RFS is effective and worth it!

So, remember, as we remain faithful to invest in Run for the Sun this year and into 2027:

“ So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless”( 1 Corinthians 15:58, NLT).
