YOUTH MOVEMENT

By DEBORAH Cram

IT’ S

true what they say that if you do a job you love, you won’ t work a day in your life. That is the way I feel about my profession as a teacher. I teach geometry to high school students and love almost everything about it. This love for teenagers and youth is why I wanted to get involved in CMA Youth Movement, which I did last year! I get to combine the love of teaching and mentoring with the love of the motorcycling community.
The skill set that God has given me has served me well in this regard. I love being around these silly kids; they are so funny and honest! Oh, the things they may say! They are so full of energy! That’ s not to say that there are challenges as well. Kids are the same as we were a long time ago, but the world has changed around us! They still have the same hopes and dreams we had as kids; the challenges, breakups, school, friend groups, etc., but today’ s world is so much more intimidating, and they look to the adults in their lives to help mentor them. Being part of the Youth Movement is so rewarding, as I
can help kids grow in their faith and help connect them to Jesus.
Then, in turn, they can go out and reach their world of friends with the love of Jesus as well. Never underestimate the power of kids filled with the Holy Spirit to go out and reach their communities with the Gospel!
1 Timothy 4:12( TLB) says,β€œ Don’ t let anyone think little of you because you are young. Be their ideal; let them follow the way you teach and live; be a pattern for them in your love, your faith, and your clean thoughts.”
What a challenge! Kids filled with the love of Jesus are powerful as they bring the message of salvation to their schools and friends. The CMA Youth Movement helps equip kids with the tools they need to do this and also introduces Jesus to those who attend activities like Flame On and Spring Forth( NC Regional Event). I encourage you to get involved in the Youth Movement! You will be challenged and inspired! Jesus is returning really soon and wants us ALL to tell everyone to GET READY! This just doesn’ t mean the adults! This
means the youth as well!
Last year, I had the privilege of attending Flame On for the first time. What a wonderful time it was! You will probably get as much sleep in four days as you usually get in one night, but what a sight to see hundreds of kids praising the Lord and singing and dancing and then encouraging and praying for each other each night at the altars, and challenging each other in their small groups to walk closer with Jesus.
I encourage you to pray for our youth and to get youth involved in your chapters and state. I promise you it will be a blessing! CMA
