RIDING ON THE SAME PAGE wasn ’ t that long ago that GPS
IT wasn ’ t a thing , and a Rand McNally was in everyone ’ s saddlebag . We all had a map book with the major roads in each state and many of the larger cities . Some of these books had loads of helpful information , such as the locations of rest areas , campgrounds , roadside services , and much more . Imagine what would happen if a chapter got together for a ride and everyone had their own map book , and it was opened to a different page . No one would go in the same direction , and it would only be by a miracle that they all ended up at the same destination ! I have often heard someone say that the Bible is a map God has given us , giving directions to where He wants us to go . What a great advantage it is for a chapter to have a Bible study . The

chapter we were involved in started a Bible study where we met once a month . It wasn ’ t long before we made it twice a month and eventually every week . We also had Bible study rides , where we would study and discuss a passage of scripture each time we stopped . When we did these rides , it often led to ministry opportunities at that location . Studying the Bible bonded us with a clear focus on where God wanted us .
What can this bring to your chapter ? Studying the Word together will bring unity in focus as you prayerfully seek the Holy Spirit to lead your chapter . Ask the Lord to guide your group to scripture that will take you in the direction He wants you to go and hit the road that He has put before you to do His work for His Kingdom .
“ I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go ; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you ” ( Psalm 32:8 , NIV ).
Studying the Word together will encourage , strengthen , and challenge each of you . Everyone should have the opportunity to share their thoughts , questions , and feelings regarding the Word , as everyone is in a different place in their walk with the Lord , and the Spirit speaks to each of us individually , according to our experiences . Take time to talk through and discuss the tough verses , as this will challenge you in your study and may enlighten your understanding and meaning of a particular passage .
