FROM the beginning to the end of the Bible , you will find relationships , some good and some bad . God has given us relationships with people so we can be productive in His Kingdom . This is not as complicated as some try to make . It is really just interacting with people building relationships .
What flows out of a Christian ’ s life affects others around them and can be used for good . This isn ’ t a task to be marked off , nor should it be a drag . We can look forward to God ’ s direction , knowing that it may be challenging , but at the same time , it can be a lot of fun . The life we live should be on purpose , looking for ways to interact with each other , inviting others to have fun with us and also engage in the activies of others .
Just a few weeks ago , I planned an adventure ride through New Mexico and invited some state leaders to go with me . I looked for those who had an adventure bike and a sense of adventure . It was a great time of building relationships and learning what each other was
like away from the pressures of the ministry . I believe some on the trip were surprised to learn how fun others could be . When we look at people in their jobs , we get to see them operating in a way to accomplish a task and help a state grow . This activity brings with it stress ; even for those who are unaware of it , it affects them . When viewed from the place of job fulfillment , we may not get a true picture of what people are like away from the daily grind .
On this trip , we encountered things we had not planned on : bike troubles , body pains , and roads that were much worse than planned . Through it all , we got to see how the group handled adversity , and in this , we got to see what this group of men were really like . I was pleased with their attitude to push through and accept where we were . While there was obviously a reason to be upset at where they were in life , they instead pulled together and found joy in adversity .
In this , we can find who God desires us to be as His kids . When life puts you in a place that is someone else ’ s doing , we have choices to make . We can get mad and bitter , we can write them off , or we can embrace where we are and work together to get out alive , finding joy in the challenge . I believe that when we see others in a bad place in life we should come beside them and help them out – showing them the adventure in the call of God . What is that adventure , you may ask ? It is being in the middle of the will of God and finding that difficult , seemingly impossible , but knowing that God ’ s strength will see us through . That is why the Bible says to pray and keep on praying . It ’ s in that praying that we will find strength to carry on for that day . We are to ask over and over for God ’ s help until we see it materialize .
In the continual asking for God ’ s help is where we will find faith ; without faith , you will give up praying and just trudge on in your own strength .
