YOUTH MOVEMENT By ZEKE McPherson
GREETINGS again ,
CMA . Youth Movement is hopping , and we are in the process of closing out the Flame On event this year . God is so good to us .
It is January , and this marks my and Samantha ’ s final month with CMA . It is a bittersweet moment for us as we transition toward being youth pastors . I look back over our time here at CMA , and God has spoken to us and used this time to stretch us and shape us for the future . I am so thankful for all of you who have supported us and loved us along the way .
One consistent from 2017 to now in our ministry at CMA has been God ’ s call on our lives to disciple young people . From year one of ministering to the Youth Movement leaders and students , Samantha and I spoke a language of discipleship by “ dunking teenagers in the nature of who God is , who Jesus is , and who the Holy Spirit is .” Ultimately , this is the call that leads us into local ministry to do this full-time with students on a geographically smaller scale .
Youth Movement , however , is growing in this area well ! All around the country , Youth Movement leaders and CMA state leaders alike are training up CMA “ padawans ,” teaching them the CMA way and how to better follow Jesus .
Over the past five years , we ’ ve had a unique opportunity to walk with a couple doing just this . They have such a wonderful heart for teenagers and young adults , and they have the lifeblood of CMA running in their veins . They are energetic , focused , and kind .
We are thrilled to announce that Ben and Rachel Larson , Youth Movement Area Reps on the Iowa State Leadership team , will be taking the reins as the new Youth Movement National Evangelist !
As I mentioned before , they are all in ! And I am enthused to witness what God will do in this ministry through their vision and leadership . Please extend your warmest CMAfamily welcome to them when you get a chance to meet them .
As for my family , it has been the thrill of a lifetime to serve beside such wonderful Evangelists and Youth Movement leaders . We are honored to have been a part of the ministry of CMA , and it will always be a part of our ministry life that we look back on fondly . We pray for blessing upon blessing , heavy conviction , steadfast energy , and undeniable leading from the Holy Spirit to continue to flood what God is doing in the world of Youth Movement .
It ’ s not goodbye ; it ’ s see you soon ! From Zeke , Samantha , Olive , Nova , and baby Judy : God has been with us all through this season of ministry , and He will continue to bless CMA Youth Movement . And CMA Youth Movement , all of its leaders , and the countless memories of Flame On events and mission trips will be in our hearts forever ! CMA
