A KAYAK BLESSING Members of CMA Chapter # 358 , Soul Searchers of Kalamazoo , Michigan , have an annual chapter camp out at Old Log Resort in Marion , Michigan . The camp is situated along a portion of the Muskegon River . One of the evenings , a kayaker , whose name is Dave , asked to drop his kayak off by our campfire . A little while later , he walked over to show us his route map of rivers he planned to travel . As he joined us and the conversation transpired , he mentioned his parents and that his father-in-law had passed away . One of our members used this as an opening to suggest that we need to know where we are going when we die . Dave ’ s response was that he is a believer , and both of his parents were also . We explained that we usually do bike blessings , but we would love to do a kayak blessing ! We prayed for Dave , and he attached the blessing sticker ! What a great God we have !

ANOTHER USE FOR RAG TRACTS We ’ ve discovered another great use for the CMA rag tracts . At the Changing of the Colors rally in 2018 , several sessions were geared to making the point that CMA must attract younger members . One of the ways to do that was to go where younger people go , such as motocross tracks . Our chapter ( Solid Rock Riders # 712 , Sioux City , Iowa ) found a motocross track 20 minutes away , and we are now in our third year serving there ; during their big race weekends , flagging , working the gate , scoring the small track , handing out water , doing bike blessings , conducting worship services , and providing pancake breakfast . We are accomplishing this with great assistance from CMA members from chapters throughout western Iowa and eastern Nebraska . As a recent race weekend approached , the forecast called for a very hot and muggy race day . So , we came with extra ice and water and soaked rag tracts in the icy water , and handed them out as cooling towels . We walked the crowd and gave 60 rag tracts away in a couple of hours . Track organizers marveled at how all they heard that day from spectators was how CMA was handing out cooling towels during the hot afternoon . And we placed hope in the hands of 60 people that day !
