different than riding at night or in bad weather . Riding when you are tired , injured , sick , or just don ’ t feel like it are decisions left to the rider . How often have you pushed yourself a little farther down the road when it was unsafe ?
Maintenance of your bike is a choice . Did you check your bike before you started ? Have you ever tried to squeeze a few hundred more miles out of a set of worn tires ? Do you maintain your bike ’ s belt , chain , lights , and oil ? How much training and practice have you had ? All of these things are choices that will affect safety .
Judgment includes having an informed opinion based on training and experience . The result of using good judgment is a safe ride . Having safety as a core value and keeping it at the top of your mind takes commitment and forms the basis for making good choices . The more you make good choices , the better your riding gets . The choice is yours . CMA
