tion was eased by the friendly atmosphere. A head nod here, a smile there, and a greeting:β Hey man, nice bike.β I think the best part of the day was when one club rolled in 4 wide and 300 in the pack, demonstrating their presence. As they entered the strip, they throttled their bikes. The windows of the stores rattled, and the smell of exhaust and tire smoke filled the air. Children covered their ears, and mothers comforted their babies. As this orchestra of bikes bellowed out their sounds, I found myself awestruck. Only shooting artillery in my Army days did I hear such deafening thunder. A person had to be there to fully appreciate the rumble, vibration, |
sight, and sounds of the triumphant arrival of this club.
Even with this colossal display, I found something more profound over the weekend. As I mingled with people in the streets, I found that all the clubs respect the CMA patch. Over the last 50 years, CMA members have been dedicated to working hard, praying, sweating, and shedding tears to uphold the integrity the patch represents. I would hear,β Hey, CMA, what is the word today?β I was surprised that they wanted to talk to me. My response was,β Jesus is coming back soon.β A smile came across one manβ s tattooed face, and he responded with,β Yes, He is.β

On our way home to California, we stopped for gas, and God poured out His favor on Grant and me once again. A gal ran excitedly up and exclaimed that CMA had done a bike blessing for her many years ago. That opened the door for us to do a car blessing and spirit-led prayer for her, which was incredibly encouraging for both her and us. We then gave her one of the bike blessing packets we had learned to fold the day before.
After traveling over a thousand miles, we returned safely. This trip has inspired us. I encourage anyone to attend one of these rallies. It will change you. I promise. CMA
