GOD ’ S plans are so much better and greater than our plans . I know that in my mind , but unfortunately , I don ’ t always live that way . I am an engineer , not only by education and training , but right down to my nature and how God created me . I like to have a plan , and I generally see things unfolding as a logical progression of ordered sequences and steps .

But that is not how God sees things . He sees the end before the beginning . He is never surprised or needs to adjust due to our actions and choices . That doesn ’ t mean we are puppets . It means we make very real choices , but He takes care of the outcome . We may plan our course , but He directs our steps . And that is a very good thing .
Scripture is filled with verses describing God ’ s mighty power and love for us . These are some of my favorite verses because they open endless possibilities . He declares , β€œ No eye has seen , no ear has heard , and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him ” ( 1 Corinthians 2:9b , NLT ).
We might have a pretty good imagination and can come up with some wild ideas . This verse tells me that we haven ’ t even scratched the surface of what God has prepared for us if we just love Him . That isn ’ t a very big ask . We just need to keep our priorities straight .
God hasn ’ t just prepared these things . He is actively working through us to accomplish them . His power is at work in each of us . The apostle Paul wrote , β€œ Now all glory to God , who is able , through his mighty power at work within us , to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think ” ( Ephesians 3:20 , NLT ). Can you imagine that ? God can accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think ! Oh , the things we could ask for . I believe the catch here is that we need to be asking in alignment with His will for our lives and not out of our own personal wants and desires .
The good news is that we do not have to do any of this on our own . God put a plan in place before the beginning of the world , and we are recipients of it . Ephesians 2:10 ( NLT ) explains , β€œ For we are God ’ s masterpiece . He has created us anew in Christ Jesus , so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago .” God calls us His β€˜ masterpiece ’ and has a plan for us to accomplish good things during our lifetime . We don ’ t do this without our efforts , but because Christ Jesus is living within us .
God ’ s plans are so much better than anything we might ever imagine or wish for ourselves . May we all live with excitement and expectation for what He has in store for each of us . To God be the glory . CMA
