MY wife and I were heading home from serving with the street team at Sturgis when we had a serious one-bike accident . We both were brought to the wonderful hospital of Sanford in Sioux Falls . I was taken by ambulance and Carol by helicopter . God was with us , and His healing power through Jesus is still with us through all of this .
God put everyone in the right place at the right time . From the two nurses who saw the accident and stopped to the great doctors and nurses at the hospital . And especially the CMA personnel who have been there for us . They called immediately , and the visits and prayers started as soon as they heard . After three weeks in the hospital , I am home recovering , and Carol has several more months to go .
We have met with people from CMA we had never met to having
Roger and Rayleen Wilson and Jay and Jane Wilbur calling for updates and offering prayers . To having chapter members give rides , bring food , and prepare our house for my arrival . To even getting me a loaner lift chair . Many , and I mean many , have prayer chains in their states and their leadership going . Plus , many have their churches and contacts praying for us .
Both Carol and I have used this opportunity to praise Christ and share His salvation . During therapy in the hospital , I even brought another biker to Christ . Carol asked me if I was preaching on my floor , and I said yes . She said to keep it up . We were both on different floors . This wasn ' t a time to suffer but a time to praise God for an opportunity to share His love .
I have many stories I can share , but Carol and I want to thank all the CMA people who have reached out to us to make this journey
more worth it . You are all the best and a great testament to showing God ' s love to those in need . Bless you all !
Update October 23 , Carol got to come home on the day of our 42nd wedding anniversary . Praise God ! And we enjoyed watching the services of the Changing of the Colors Rally via Livestream . CMA
